That's exactly what happened for cinema-goers about to watch Captain Marvelin New Jersey, when Carol Danvers herself, Brie Larson, turned up for a surprise visit on Saturday.

"I just heard that I was on the cups and popcorn and I wanted to see for myself," Larson told the understandably excited audience.

Earlier, Larson had even jumped behind the candy bar, serving up popcorn and soda like a hero.

Of course, there were gleeful selfies aplenty to be taken with the Marvel star.
