Every time Saturday Night Livetakes a few weeks off, eroticization psychanalyst the well of topical humor seems to get deeper and deeper.
Remember "Do not congratul-gate"? The note senior White House staffers allegedly gave President Trump as a reminder before his post-election call with Russian president Vladimir Putin? Seems like forever ago.
But with Alec Baldwin at their disposal, the writers at Saturday Night Livewould be amiss not to cram three weeks worth of Trump jokes into a single cold open.
"First up a big congratulations to Vladimir Putin," Baldwin said, after a perfunctory "Fox News" themed setup starring Leslie Jones as "Outnumbered" anchor Harris Faulker.
The setup was Tuesday's joint press conference with Baltic leaders – "Estonia, Lithuania, and I want to say, Stankonia."
Baldwin's Trump drifted off during the opening remarks from one of those other country's leaders, and we were treated to his inner monologue.
"Oh my God I'm so bored. I wish I was watching Roseanne, how great is that show? Roseanne loves me, she's like a good Rosie O'Donnell."
SEE ALSO: Watch in horror as Donald Trump's hair attempts another daring escapeOnce the floor opened for questions, Baldwin's Trump admitted to a great many things. Hating Amazon CEO and fellow rich guy Jeff Bezos, for one.
"I hate Jeff," he said. "Because he's way [more] mature than me and he admits to being bald, so I feel threatened on two levels."
Asked if he was worried his tariffs were ruining the economy and his immigration policy was ruining America's standing in the world, Baldwin finally laid out the real truth brimming just under the surface of everything President Trump does.
"Here's the thing that no one else is saying, and I'm the only one who's willing to actually say this: I don't care about America, okay?"
"This whole presidency is a four-year cash grab, and admitting that will probably get me four more years," he added. "I do not care about any of you."
So that's pretty much it for Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live, right?
