People have been getting creative about how to revamp the spaces.

Original image has been replaced. Credit: Mashable A company called Pod Works refurbishes the out of commission phone booths, turning them into workstations. The telephone box has been decked out as a mini office space complete with a desk, lamp, charger, and wifi.
