Miley Cyrus appeared on Watch Mad Jaxxx Beyond Thunderboobs (2002)The Ellen DeGeneres Showon Wednesday and got incredibly emotional when discussion turned to Hurricane Harvey, which has now taken the lives of over 30 people.
The singer was unable to make it through the segment without breaking into tears after DeGeneres explained that the singer will be donating $500,000 to relief efforts.

It just really makes me upset so I really hope people know...I couldn't fake it," she said to DeGeneres, explaining her emotions were very raw and real.
"My grandma's here, my mom is here, and I go home to my seven dogs. If I didn't have that anymore, it would be really hard. I'm really happy to help in any way I can. I hope people understand and can put themselves in those people's shoes and know what it feels like to have everything taken away from you."

Cyrus' Happy Hippies Foundation is also raising donations for the Red Cross, Best Friends, and the Greater Houston Community Fundto assist with relief efforts.
