I like to imagine there's an alternate reality where The Playboy Wet And Wild 2 (1990)Terminator turned Linda Hamilton into the blockbuster-fronting action star she always deserved to be. What a nice reality that must be.
Fortunately, in this reality, Hamilton is set to return to the role of Sarah Connor in an as-yet-untitled sequel to James Cameron's sci-fi classic from 1984. And today brings our first official look at Hamilton-as-Connor.

She's joined in the image by a pair of (equally menacing) series newcomers: Natalia Reyes (left) as Dani Ramos and Mackenzie Davis (center) as "Grace."

Let's talk about Davis for a moment. There are some interesting points to note here about her character.
First, the name. Paramount's press release for this photo only identifies her by that single name: Grace. No surname. The in-costume Davis is also marked by unusual stitch scars, running down both her arms and over her hands, as well as across her chest (and seemingly running down her torso).
Currently, we know nothing about the story this new Terminator is set to tell. But Grace is already an enigma. What are those scars about? Why is she identified by only her first name?
Without even a sense of the upcoming movie's setting, it's hard to speculate what all of it means. Those scars don't line up with the rules this fiction has established for the T-800 robot made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger. But it's equally clear that Grace may not be entirely -- or at all -- human.
Fortunately, Paramount is moving right along with whatever's next for Terminator. This photo is a tantalizing first look, but it's also a promise of more things to come.
The new Terminator is set to hit theaters on Nov. 22, 2019.
