In his Facebook post, David explained that the video "captures the chilling first moments" when a tractor truck plowed through traffic, along with the courageous efforts of a group of individuals who risked their own safety to save a stranger's life after the accident.
Police Chief Joseph Zikuski described the accident as a "very chaotic scene" to Binghamton's Press & Sun-Bulletin. "I've never seen anything like it," Zikuski explained. "This tractor trailer had to be going at a high rate of speed. He just started coming through and pummeling cars."
According to David's Facebook post, the woman who was trapped in the burning vehicle only suffered minor cuts and bruises, and luckily no fatalities occurred in the accident.
"We're still attempting to identify those seen on video so they can be recognized for their efforts," David wrote. "On behalf of our entire community, I commend these unsung heroes as well as our local police, fire and EMS first responders. Binghamton is safer because of you."
