The Watch When the Camellia Blooms OnlineSuper NES Classic Edition is going to be a hot item this year, but one inventive creator beat Nintendo to the punch with their own SNES emulator.
SEE ALSO: Super NES Classic is real and it's out in SeptemberYesterday, a Redditor shared a Frankenstein SNES creation with the world: an SNES emulator installed insideof an old SNES cartridge.
CARD ID: 230363, CARD TYPE: Imgur
The tiny computer inside that cartridge was made using a Raspberry Pi board and was loaded up with an SNES emulator, complete with a few classic SNES games like Super Metroidand Super Mario World.
If you're looking at that Super Metroidcartridge and worried that some monster destroyed it, don't worry, the engineer just printed out a Super Metroidlabel and slapped it on a copy of some SNES hockey game.
The emulator is a good way to scratch that SNES itch we've all developed after the Super NES Classic was announced Monday, but it should be noted that emulating games on a bootleg system isn't exactly legal.
Still, this homemade SNES mini is pretty creative, and it shows just how far technology has advanced since the SNES launched in the early '90s.
