Compelled by the bravery of those who spoke out about Harvey Weinstein,eroticize arrobics women from all industries are coming forward to recount episodes of sexual harassment. Such as Icelandic pop star Björk.

She has written about her experience with a "Danish director".

As she herself acknowledges, she comes from a country "that is one of the world's place (sic) closest to equality between the sexes".

And she says it was relatively "easy" to walk away from the film industry, since she's a celebrated musician with "no ambitions in the acting world" -- but things are very different for other actresses.

In a Facebook post, Björk said:

“It was extremely clear to me when I walked into the actresses profession (sic) that my humiliation and role as a lesser sexually harassed being was the norm and set in stone with the director and a staff of dozens who enabled it and encouraged it."

It's not clear what kind of harassment Björk is talking here about, but she recalls that she became aware "that it is a universal thing that a director can touch and harass actresses at will, and the institution of film allows it."

"When i turned the director down repeatedly he sulked and punished me and created for his team an impressive net of illusion where I was framed as the difficult one," Björk recalled.

Björk managed to walk away and recover because of her strength, her great team "and because I had nothing to loose (sic) having no ambitions in the acting world."

She thinks the director "was fully aware of this game" but because she was the first one that stood up to him "he had a more fair and meaningful relationship with his actresses after my confrontation so there is hope."

“Let’s stop this -- there is a wave of change in the world," she urged.

Björk has starred in a number of films including "The Juniper Tree,” directed by Nietzchka Keene and "Dancer in the Dark," directed by Lars Von Trier.
