"I have been so honored to bring my shows to the public for the past 50 years. My sincerest apologies to everyone who purchased tickets and were planning to come to the upcoming shows.
“I plan to remain active in writing, recording and other projects for a long time to come. My thanks goes out to my loyal and devoted audiences around the world. You will always have my appreciation for your support and encouragement. This ride has been ‘so good, so good, so good’ thanks to you.”
Diamond was set to bring his 50th Anniversary tour to Australia and New Zealand, but all shows have been cancelled, with refunds being processed immediately. Featuring hits like "Cherry Cherry," "Cracklin' Rosie" and "Song Sung Blue", it would have been the third leg of the tour with Diamond selling out arena shows in the U.S. and Europe throughout 2017.
Diamond is just about to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's Grammys on Jan. 28, a few days after his 77th birthday.
