You're definitely going to want a box of tissues close by for this one.
Ontario man Mike Plas was at work when he got the call from an animal shelter in Winnipeg. It had been years since he lost his dog,Detective Archives Jack, but miraculously, Jack had been found.
Plas detailed the reunion in a Facebook post published on Saturday, saying he had lost Jack roughly four years ago. He told Mashable in a Facebook message it was actually closer to three — not that it makes a difference when a furry friend goes missing for so long. Plas had Jack for four years before he went missing.
"He got off his perimeter collar and went for a little adventure," he said. "Ended up on the hwy and someone picked him up and took him with them to winnipeg."
Fast forward around three years later, and Plas is on his way to Winnipeg to see Jack after someone found him on the side of the road and brought him to a shelter. The shelter was able to get Plas' information from Jack's microchip, according to the post.
"Life without him has never been the same and the feeling of having jacko back is unexplainable," Plas said in the post. "Never EVER loose hope.... I didnt and after 4 years apart in different provinces we are together again."
Someone managed to capture the emotional reunion between Plas and Jack, and it's filled with the appropriate amount of crying and belly rubs.
