"It was a no-brainer to me,Ongoing Archives" Mandy Moore told Mashableabout her decision to participate in Tuesday's glass ceiling-shattering evening at the Democratic National Convention.
Moore backed Hillary Clinton, America's first-ever female major party candidate for president, in a video of Rachel Platten's "Fight Song" featuring Platten herself and a slew of other celebrities. "It was just fun to just chill out, do my thing and be part of this historic event in some form or another."

It doesn't hurt that Banks knows a thing or two about a cappella from her time as an actress and director on the Pitch Perfectfranchise.
"I was on board from minute one. I didn't really know the song, that was the only catch," said Moore. "So I got to the studio and just listened to it a couple of times, so then we went through it piece by piece."
Moore met The West Wing's Mary McCormack in the studio, which is kismet since, "you need to have some West Wingfolks."
Moore herself is headed to the small screen -- she starts filming her new show, This is Us, co-starring Milo Ventimiglia and Sterling K. Brown, on Friday.
Moore says series creator Dan Fogelman initially drew her to the project. "I worked with Dan on Tangled, randomly, I had been a fan of his from Crazy Stupid Lovemoving forward," she said.
Like Crazy Stupid Love, the series weaves together the ensemble cast's intersecting plot lines. Moore and Ventimiglia play a couple expecting triplets who lose one of their children to a miscarriage.
"It's a dramedy so there are definitely more dramatic moments, but there are big laughs in the show, too. Not necessarily from our plot line so far, but I think that will change soon."
Moore's pretty good at dealing with on-screen tragedy -- she may be one of the few humans alive without the instinct to sob whenever she thinks about A Walk to Remember, which recently hit Netflix.
Moore isn't a fan of watching herself on screen, but she does remember having a blast on set, and considers it the best experience she's had making a movie.
"Now that I've had a lot of other experiences, I realize it was very rare," said Moore. "We just immediately bonded and hung out even when we weren't shooting together, and would go out to dinner or to someone's house."
