Move over, eroticism abstract movies -- TV has officially taken over San Diego Comic-Con, with almost 100 panels dedicated to our small-screen favorites scheduled to take place over the course of the four day fan fest.
That means more TV shows in Hall H than ever before -- from The Big Bang Theoryto Teen Wolf -- along with a slew of TV-centric activations popping up around the Gaslamp quarter this weekend. Since it's easy to be overwhelmed by the choice, we've attempted to narrow things down to the 10 TV panels we're most hyped for over the next few days.
This will be the first year that Comic-Con's scheduling coincides with the weekly airing of Westeros' Next Top Ruler, which should make for a particularly engaging panel. The cast is always tight-lipped when it comes to spoilers, but all HBO has to do is show a sneak peek of a scene from episode 2 to make it the most thrilling TV presentation in years. The panel will also be moderated by "a special Westerosian guest" -- it probably won't be Ed Sheeran, but George R. R. Martin would be an acceptable substitute, providing he's finished The Winds of Winter.
David Lynch and Mark Frost's groundbreaking series is making its Comic-Con debut in a panel moderated by Damon Lindelof, so expect deep questions about the nature of time, space and reality itself. While the notoriously spoiler-averse cast aren't about to let any plot details slip in the middle of the season, basking in the weirdness of Dale Cooper and the gang should be enough to soothe your soul like a damn fine cup of coffee.
The Droughtlander has been in full effect since last July, so we're extra thirsty for a glimpse of our favorite starcrossed, time-traveling couple, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). Moderated by celebrity superfan Jenna Dewan Tatum, the extra-long panel length has us tingling like a trip through the Standing Stones -- an extended timeslot usually signals a screening, so there's a chance fans might be treated to the Season 3 premiere a few months ahead of the show's September return.
Marvel and Netflix's long-awaited superhero team-up is getting the same star treatment as Marvel's movie slate, hitting Hall H with cast members and Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb in tow. We wouldn't be surprised if the show's mysterious big bad, Sigourney Weaver, also made an appearance.
ABC's fairytale drama will look pretty different in Season 7 with half of its regular cast members exiting the series, so this year's Comic-Con panel will give us our first sense of what OUAT's new status quo will be without Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) on board.
The franchise's return to the small screen is beaming into Comic-Con with cast members including Sonequa Martin-Green, Jason Isaacs and Doug Jones on hand. The action will be moderated by Rainn Wilson, who will be playing intergalactic conman Harry Mudd (a name that should be familiar to fans of the original Star Trek) in the new iteration.
Venture into the Upside Down with the cast and creative team of last year's buzziest new series as they make their Comic-Con debut. If the thought of basking in the presence of Hawkins' most adorable residents isn't enticing enough, Netflix's promise of "never-before-seen footage" should be enough to lure you in.
Warner Bros. is bringing all of its super power to bear on Ballroom 20 on Saturday for three hours of caped crusading, with the cast and producers of Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, new additionBlack Lightning, The Flashand Arrowshowing off their upcoming seasons. Given some of the cliffhangers that were left dangling at the end of last season, we can't wait to see where the action picks up.
Hulu intends to make a splash at Comic-Con with their high-concept new sci-fi series, which stars Josh Hutcherson as a janitor by day/world-ranked gamer by night who is tasked with saving the Earth from alien invaders. The Hunger Gamesstar will be on hand along with executive producer Seth Rogen and co-star Eliza Coupe, with The League's Paul Scheer moderating.
Say farewell to Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor before the show welcomes Jodie Whittaker to the role in the new year. Fans will get a sneak peek at this year's upcoming Christmas special, which will mark the end of both Capaldi's tenure and showrunner Steven Moffat's -- Broadchurchboss Chris Chibnall will take the helm for Season 11.
