Google's Arts & Culture app has a cool new feature that'll transform your pics into classic works of art. Well,The Exotic Time Machine (1998) kind of.
Basically, the Google app takes any photo and re-stylizes it in the fashion of famous paintings.
Here's an example from a snap I took weeks ago of the New York skyline.
You might remember this app for showing you which painting you looked like in 2018.
The new tool, called Art Transfer, is apparently way more high-tech than just recoloring a photo from your camera roll.
"In this case, Art Transfer is powered by an algorithmic model created by Google AI," reads a Google blog about the tool. "Once you snap your photo and select a style, Art Transfer doesn’t just blend the two things or simply overlay your image. Instead, it kicks off a unique algorithmic recreation of your photo inspired by the specific art style you have chosen."
Everything happens within the app, so you don't need an internet connection to work the tool. You can then export the Art Transfer version of your photo as either a still image or a GIF.
The tool is pretty neat and can come up with some fun results, especially with selfies.
For instance, here is me writing this post ... but as The Scream. Because don't we all feel that way right now?
