Facebook Messenger uses an AI assistant called 'M' to suggest Uber rides and Big Thing Chief: The Stolen Wiferemind you to pay a friend back. But M now has a new task -- to suggest what music you should listen to on Spotify.
SEE ALSO: Spotify Is Watching YouM will step in with the suggestions when you mention related phrases in your conversations. Just type "play music" or "listen to music" or another variety of that. M will catch on and display "Find Music."
The bot is even smart enough to ask if you want to listen to an artist just with the mention of their name. You don't even have to type out anything about playing their songs for "Listen to Big Gigantic" prompt to come up.
After you send and listen to the song, you can "Share More Music." This can be from the same artist, album, and genre -- or it can be something completely different. Messenger will suggest songs and playlists that you've recently listened to on Spotify or let you search for new ones. You can even create a new group playlist within this menu.
If you don't want to wait for M to suggest Spotify for you, just go to the Spotify extension within Messenger. It's been a part of the app since April and can be found within the blue "+" menu on top of your keyboard. Go to Spotify and start sending off all your favorite songs.
M doesn't appear to be giving Spotify suggestions for everyone yet. If you're in that group, sit tight until M's new feature hits you. And make sure you're using the latest version of Facebook Messenger to ensure you get some quick tunes as soon as possible.
