Amazon has released a new Prime subscription deal for college students in the United States. "Prime Student" includes a free six month trial and a subsequent monthly fee of just $5.49, which students can cancel at any time. It also comes with all the same Prime goodies — like free two day shipping and Prime streaming access — as the non-kid table version.

Amazon also offers an annual Prime Student deal, which costs $49/year. That comes to $4.08/month, but locks in students for six moths after that sweet, sweet free trial ends.
To be eligible for a Prime Student plan, users must have a .edu email address and "be able to provide proof of enrollment upon request" in the U.S. or U.S. territories.
But don't worry — we doubt Amazon is going to come looking for your official transcript anytime soon. And it won't judge you too harshly for all those "rocks for jocks" courses, either.
